LC/CT, whose epacts up till here are Dionysiac epacts, consistently omit the saltus hereafter as far as 1316, where LC commences a lacuna; CT however continues the same sequence. Consequently its epacts steadily decrease by one day each 19 years up until AD 1341. However at AD 1341 an increment of xiii is made leaving CT’s epact at 1348 too low by four days. The clear implication is that LC/CT’s epact data from here forward have been constructed retrospectively by an author unfamiliar with the role of the saltus or the cycle of Dionysiac epacts. By contrast LC/CT ferial data is nearly perfectly AD synchronous from here to 1478.
